The End. And a New Beginning.
I started this website almost three years ago. Over that time, to my surprise, the site has grown quite a lot. So much in fact, that it simply takes up too much of my time. The time has come to make a drastic change.
It happened during a casual conversation with Tim Odell, one of the founders of Hooniverse.com. Both of us were complaining about how difficult it is to run a website while managing the less important things in life, such as a day job and a family. In the end we agreed that it would be a great idea to combine the two sites. As of Monday, CarGuyDad.com will become part of Hooniverse.com, and I will be the Managing Editor there (mom will be so proud!).
All the typical stuff such as car reviews, news, motorsports, and other interesting stuff will carry over to Hooniverse.com. We will also revisit some articles from this site’s past and introduce a ton of new content. The overall awesomeness that is Hooniverse will not change. I am really excited about this and motivated to create something really cool. Please follow me and the rest of the CarGuyDad.com contributors over to Hooniverse.com.
Thanks,
- Kamil

While I am sad to read this, I’m definitely excited for you. It’s an awesome opportunity and I can’t wait to follow along. Congrats Kamil.
Enter 301 redirect ….NOW. haha
Congrads Kamil. Awesome news. So does this mean along with the site goes the family and the bigboy job? Or are you holding onto those? haha
Oh no no no. Day job stays as is.
Hooniverse will actually be slightly less work for me because there are more people. Instead of doing maintenance stuff, talking with advertisers, etc., I can just focus on writing and editing.
OK. That sounds like a super win! I actually am doing a two-part piece today. Thought about your site while writing it as I am a soon-to-be dad.
Congrats Juan!! That’s great news. We are also expecting our second child in March, so we can commiserate. Sleep is overrated.
[...] about the same time when Hooniverse started, I started my own little website. Fast-forward a few years and the damn thing is demanding as much time as my day job. Oddly enough [...]
Kamil – Good luck with the transition. It says a lot about all the hard work you put in. And, wait a minute, you’re an engineer by trade and your mom’s proud you’re going to be a managing editor? I’ve been an ME of a newspaper group. While it was awesome, I’d rather have the engineering income!
Congrats! I know what you mean about taking so much time. I need to either get some guest bloggers or sell one or two of my sites. Good job!
All of you followed me to Hooniverse, right?
Anyone interested in running this website?
