New England Forest Rally 2009 – MEGA GALLERY

July 21, 2009 Events 1 Comment

Rally T2The fact that rally is not a very popular motorsport in the U.S. is a very sad one, as it was the most entertaining spectator events I have ever been to. I really have a lot to say about the race, how it was organized, the people and the overall atmosphere, but I am just super busy this week. Check back soon for a write up on the event, the people and the special town of Berlin NH, where the part of the rally that I attended was hosted. In the mean time, enjoy the 300+ picture gallery after the jump.

The idea is to keep as many wheels on the ground as possible. This guy is doing it wrong.

Enjoy the pictures, all 300+ of them were taken with a Nikon D5000 with Nikon 24-120VR lens. I have not used that lens in a long time and I forgot how awesome it is, but I still had a few over-exposed pictures. No photoshopping of any kind was performed, no time for it. Because I plan on entering some of the shots into the Rally-America contest, all had to be watermarked. If you see yourself or your car in my pictures and would like to get a high-resolution version of it without the watermark, please use the contact page and I will be happy to email you the picture. Thanks.

Rally Racing, part 1: Building the Car

This is the first of three articles on Rally Racing. I intend to cover car set-ups, driver training, different classes, and whatever else I may come upon. Project ET-001: BMW M62 4.4L V8 Engine

I still remember the day I saw the first one. It was a nice early spring day in 1997 and I was in walking around near Battery Park in downtown Manhattan. There in the corner of my eye I saw it; jet black, on its three-piece wheels which came only on the models with six-speed [...]

Driving Jaguar’s new XFR, on the Road and on the Track

I have recently had the opportunity to drive the new Jaguar XFR on the road and on a race track. With the XFR competing directly against the BMW M5, which I have also had the opportunity to drive on the track and on the street, it only made sense to evaluate the XFR while using [...]

Experiencing The New Diesel-Powered BMWs.

While you may have already read a thing or two about BMW’s new compression ignition offerings, you may not have heard all the details, and you may have some questions. I sure did, and I did my best to answer them here. Get coffee, go read, see huge gallery.

Cars of Paris

French cars; some say they’re ugly, some say they’re beautiful, all agree that they’re unreliable. However, there is something about them that makes you want to look. These pictures were taken in March of 2007, my wife’s and mine last trip before the birth of our daughter. Selected for your viewing pleasure are not only [...]
