Italian Car Day!
Yet another summer Lawn Event at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Boston (Brookline, MA technically). So far, you have seen British Car Day, German Car Day, Miata Day, and now Italian Car Day. Probably no one else on earth makes vehicles that capture speed, beauty, great design and awful reliability quite like the Italians. Everyone wants them, even despite hearing the nightmare stories that come with owning this wonderful machinery.
Since I was busy driving the Pontiac G8 around Tennessee, my friend Bob Knox was nice enough to take these pictures for the website. Represented were Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Alfa Romeos, Lancias, Maseratis, and yes, even Ducatis… and why not? they have a motor, they have wheels, they are expensive, exotic and leak stuff – perfect fit.
Icing on the cake is Michael Schumacher’s F1 car (pics in the gallery below). Unfortunately, I don’t recall exactly what year it was from, perhaps some Schumacher/Ferrari experts could chime in? It is part of the exhibit at the museum more than the Italian Car Day thing, but Bob rightfully saw it fitting here. Oh yea, we will see him driving a Ferrari F1 car again at upcoming races. My expectations are quite high as I always wondered, was Schumacher are really awesome driver or did he just have a really awesome car/crew/team? It will be interesting to see him go up against Lewis and the Brown guys.
There were Italian girls too, and Italian chicks rock, I know because I married one. No, that’s not my wife. Enjoy the pics.

Damn my eyes.
I should know what Ferrari you’ve chosen for this post, but I can’t recall! Had it been a Dino, I would know it right out, but this one, this stunning Italian beauty, is lost on me. Even so, truly beautiful lines. One of those cars you just stare at longingly, sighing.
(sigh)
That Ferrari on the cover is a 250 GT Lusso, and the F1 car is the F2004. It was a great day even if the sun did not come out. Too bad for me I didn’t have a helmet and jacket because Ducati had free demo rides of the new Hypermotard. What an amazing bike!
Just found your site, nice work.
I wish I knew about the free demo test rides Ducati was offering, I talked to them for about 15 minutes.
For those of you that need more of an Italian Car Day “fix” I have about 140 pics of this event located here.
