Fourth of July Cop Car Spectacular
Almost a million people assembled in Boston this Sunday for the annual Fourth Of July concert and fireworks on the Esplanade. In order to have the upper hand on this many people, many of whom get liquored up, Cambridge and Boston Police Departments, Massachusetts State Police, EMS, and Fire Departments set all kinds of equipment in order to be ready for just about anything.
We went out biking around town in the early afternoon just as the majority of people were starting to converge along both sides of the Charles River. Remembering last year’s preparations, I have brought along a small camera and snappend a few pictures of the unusual Police and other emergency vehicles. Have a look, the blacked-out SUVs looked the most menacing to me.
Below is an experimental video I shot with my DSLR of the fireworks finally. I also took the above picture; of the 100 of so pictures I took, this was the best one. Who knew that photographing fireworks would be so difficult.
